We have exciting news for our Mexican streamers! Beginning September 1, 2020, all prices in the Roku Channel Store in Mexico will now be denominated in Mexican Pesos (MXN). On this date, all Roku Pay transactions for products listed in the Roku Channel Store for Mexico will be settled in Mexican Pesos. This change is another big step in Roku’s program to conduct business internationally and to support local currencies around the world.
Please note that this change will not affect your payouts from Roku, which will continue to be paid in US Dollars.
To prepare for this transition to Pesos, you will need to determine Peso-denominated pricing for your products that are currently available in the Roku Channel Store in Mexico. For your convenience, we have created a Peso-pricing conversion chart (attached to this article), which shows the USD and MXN values that are associated with each price tier.
If you do not select Peso-based price tiers for your products, we will automatically convert your current price tiers to the applicable peso-pricing, as shown in our conversion chart. By design, the Peso-value for a given tier will be approximate to, but less than, the USD value for the same tier (in some cases, the difference may be substantial). Beginning September 1, 2020, your users will be billed using the corresponding Peso value. Please note, any price change that reflects a price increase to a user must be made at least 30 days prior to the price change taking effect. This means, if you wish to increase your pricing for your products, so that the higher prices will be effective on the day of the currency switch, you must notify your customers about the changes before August 1, 2020.
To update the pricing of your products, go to your Developer Dashboard and enter in the new pricing information for each applicable product. For help, see "Adding an in-channel product."
Legacy pricing tiers will continue to apply to existing users and their subscriptions and recurring purchases that were established before this currency switch. Beginning September 1, 2020, all users will automatically be charged the new Peso price on their next billing cycle.
