How do I convert an SDK channel to Direct Publisher?

Answer

To convert an existing SDK channel to Direct Publisher, navigate to the "Manage My Channels" screen of the Roku developer dashboard, click the options dropdown to the right of the channel you'd like to convert, and click "Convert to Direct Publisher." 

Please note that clicking this button will not automatically convert your channel. You will still need to provide the same content as a new Direct Publisher channel starting from scratch — specifically, you'll need a channel feed and some branded assets. However, your Channel ID will remain the same, meaning the channel will not be uninstalled for anyone who had previously downloaded the channel. Rather, the update will simply act like a typical channel update.

Don't see the option to convert your channel to Direct Publisher?

Beta SDK channels will not see the option to convert to Direct Publisher because beta Direct Publisher channels are not permitted on the Roku platform. You will need to create a new Direct Publisher channel from scratch.
